US based Goals for Girls (G4G) and Nagpur’s Slum Soccer (SS), spent 2 days with WIN learning about the plight of underprivileged Indian women suffering from cancer, leprosy, HIV and mental health disorders.
The 50 students decorated our shelter for abandoned women; painting tribal “Warli” designs on the walls. And what a fabulous job they did!
Later in the evening G4G and SS joined forces in providing entertainment to our residents, most of whom are recovering from mental health problems caused by repeated exposure to violence and abuse.
The evening continued with dinner, music and dancing, and concluded with the releasing of Chinese lanterns into the night air. What a memorable beginning to the New Year.
