It’s a tragic fact that the charity finds most of its beneficiaries on the streets. Many have medical problems, some are elderly, and others have escaped violent homes. All are vulnerable to abuse and disease, and little is done to acknowledge or address the problem.
The Indian authorities fail to protect women, therefore it’s easy for families to dispose of their unwanted sisters, daughters, wives, mothers or grandmothers; and usually when they’re at their most vulnerable.
Unless and until the India Government acknowledges the problem, then women will continue to be discarded and forgotten.
