Spring Flower Demonstration

Updated: Jul 2

A SPRING themed charity night was held on Friday 13 March to raise funds for WIN. More than 35 people gathered in St John’s Chapel Town Hall in Weardale, County Durham, to see a demonstration of flower arranging by Anita Holmes. Anita is a very skilled florist, who trained at the Constance Fry School of Floristry and who has had florist shops of her own, as well as creating arrangements for such prestigious places as the Savoy Hotel. Her theme was ‘Spring’ and her beautiful arrangements – some traditional, some very modern – were raffled off. After the demonstration, a supper was enjoyed by those attending and the final amount raised was £200, which will go to support the vital work done for abandoned street women in Nagpur by Leah Pattison and Usha Patel. Women In Need would like to thank Carol Oulton for organising the event, as well as Anita Holmes for the demonstration.
