Hospice Care for Neglected Dying

THE MILITARY and Hospitaller Order of St Lazarus, has recently made a second donation to Women In Need, for a small hospice that will cater for women with terminal conditions.

Those with advanced conditions, such as cancer and AIDS, are often left in hospital grounds and on the streets during the last stages of life.

Dhanwan (pictured) was a woman in her mid-40s, who was abandoned by her family and discovered in a state of utter neglect, suffering from the final stages of oral cancer.

Only days away from dying, WIN could only provide palliative care to relieve her suffering.

It is for women like Dhanwan, that WIN's hospice is being established. We look forward to updating you on our progress.
