Educating women through leprosy awareness and screening programmes

One of the core components of WIN's community outreach efforts is the implementation of monthly leprosy awareness and screening programmes. These sessions are designed not only to identify and treat cases early but also to dispel myths and reduce stigma surrounding the disease.
Leprosy, also known as Hansen's disease, is a chronic infectious disease caused by the bacteria Mycobacterium leprae. It mainly affects the skin, peripheral nerves, and upper respiratory tract. While curable with multidrug therapy (MDT), untreated leprosy can lead to permanent disability
