STANHOPE Silver Band generously gave their time for free, to perform a fundraising concert in aid of Women In Need.
Conductor Steve Robson and his orchestra presented a medley of music, such as Manhattan Skyline and Singing in the Rain, at St John's Chapel Town Hall.
The band raised £800 during the evening, £150 of which was kindly donated from sales of their Brass Band Aid CDs.
During the concert, Stanhope Silver Band played a piece called Dignity by Alan Fernie, which beautifully accompanied images of women helped through the charity.
Women In Need would like to thank Steve and all his fellow band members for so kindly giving their free time, to help the forgotten women of India. The proceeds of the concert bring the proposed healthcare centre one step closer to reality.
