Conrad's Classic Cars

DRIVERS of the Great Arc Car Rally have raised significant funds, to aid the construction of WIN's new health care centre.

The generous donation was made by rally organiser Conrad Birch and 25 members in February, as they drove vintage motors across India.

Conrad has been a supporter of Women In Need (formerly START) for nearly 10 years and first visited Nagpur in 2000 to see Leah and Usha's work. Leah and Usha hosted a talk and buffet lunch for the team at Nagpur's Mahalgi Nagar shelter for the desititute, where they met some of the women helped through WIN.

Next day, the rally drove north to a hill station in Pachmari, where Leah and Usha were invited to discuss the charity's work in further detail.

The Great Arc Rally, organised by ROARR, retraces the route taken by Colonel William Lambton and George Everest, in their famous 1802 Survey of India.

Women In Need would like to thank Conrad and the entire rally team for their kind and valued support.
